Part-Time Central Illinois Architectural & Design (A&D) Representative
Educational Environments (Frank Cooney) is a market-leading furniture dealer specializing in modernizing learning spaces. We work to bring furniture and design solutions that embrace movement, flexibility, and collaboration; partnering with leading manufacturers and A&D to create the highest quality and most innovative learning spaces. Our office and showroom are in the Chicago Metro Area, but we serve clients throughout the state of Illinois and other states for special projects.
Your Role
We’re seeking a part-time, relationship-focused A&D Representative to support and develop partnerships with the Architectural and Design community across Central and Southern Illinois and the St. Louis region. This flexible role is ideal for someone who enjoys connecting with design professionals, understands their project goals, and offers creative solutions to meet their needs. You’ll work with Senior Account Managers and Designers to ensure our furniture solutions exceed our clients’ expectations. Projects can range from one classroom, library or media center to re-imagining 50 classrooms for an entire school district, or even designing first-of-its kind learning environments.
Part-time, flexible hours (to be discussed and agreed upon)
Ideal for candidates seeking flexible scheduling around other commitments
Travel within the region as needed (schedule negotiable) & visits to Chicago suburbs HQ
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain relationships with architects, designers, and design firms in Central IL, Southern IL, and St. Louis
Conduct presentations, lunch & learns, events and product training sessions for the A&D community
Provide design support and product expertise
Promote our manufacturers’ furniture solutions, with an emphasis on education and learning environments
Partner with internal sales team and other regional A&D reps to coordinate project opportunities
Track opportunities in CRM and maintain communication with key accounts
Attend selected industry events or networking opportunities as schedule allows
Qualifications:
2+ years in A&D sales, commercial interiors, furniture sales, design, architecture or a related industry preferred
Understanding of the design process and comfort engaging with design professionals
Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated and organized, able to manage time and regional territory effectively
Outstanding written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills with client, co-workers and executives
Proficient in Microsoft Office products
